summer in the city

i can't believe summer's over. hope everyone had a great one, i sure did. between trips to la and vegas, coney island, the aquarium, boston, the beach, ferry rides, swim class, father's day and all the summer picnics and bbq's, i learned to swing, sit, crawl, suck on my feet, babble and eat real food. stay tuned, i'm getting ready to sprout some teeth :)

now that i'm pretty mobile (i'm a pro at the army crawl), i can usually be found licking the kitchen stools, hanging out under the sofa or making out with the hardwood floors. according to mommy, these are all naughty things, so she sentenced me to jail. but not a shawshank prison, more like where martha stewart went.

p.s. if someone could please sneak me a jar of pureed peaches with a nail file inside, i'll owe you one.

6 months: a letter from mommy

dear oscar,

6 months ago today, you entered this world and graced our lives with your precious soul. making friends wherever you go, so bright-eyed and generous with your smile. you light up the faces of all the people you meet. you're growing up so fast, baby. my heart is breaking and beaming with pride at the same time. i love you more everyday. happy 6 months baby!

coney island

this weekend we went to coney island where i met a sword swallower, glass walker, lobster boy, snake wrangler and fire breather but best of all, i found nemo (sorta). we also strolled on the boardwalk, walked on the beach and went to the amusement park where daddy won me a prize. i'm too little to go on the rides, but i still had the best time ever.

look what i can do

remember when i said i was growing up fast. well, i wasn't kidding. here's a quick rundown of some of the things i've been up to. (don't mention this to mommy though, she gets really emo about the whole thing)

1. my ride got an upgrade (toddler seat, baby!)

2. i eat (and poop) solids. avocados are yum. sweet potatoes are bleh. (ps: this is mommy's first attempt at movie-making, not quite oscar-worthy... haha, get it?)

3. i sip from a sippy cup.

4. i can (kinda) sit in a highchair.

5. still no teeth (but lots of drool). here's a gratuitous video of me just hanging out. note the puddles of drool.

b-baby

while most parents might take their little ones to lincoln center to introduce them to fine performing arts like the ballet, opera or symphony, mommy and daddy took me to lincoln center to see b-boy champs last-for-one. props to aunt lisa for the heads up. we had a great time!

my first word

so after five months, i finally managed to muster up my first word today: mam-ma (which means food, not to be confused with mama). as in give me some. and did mommy respond with a bottle? no, she decides to sticks a video camera in my face instead.
